While downtown is cheaper, I'm with you - if you only come occasionally then I always stay on the strip. I'm afraid downtown isn't as much of a draw as it once was, and once you have seen the freemont experience a few times then casinos are closer but that's about it.

I prefer the Paris, partly for the central location, partly for the Atmosphere which is a little less garish than some, and finally because staff are generally friendly. We're low rollers yet get comPed pretty much everything most trips which compares to my last stay at the Golden Nugget which gave me virtually nothing (used to be very good) and so overall I always heD there.

Of course traveling from the UK does mean that as a share of my overally vacation cost the hotel is a small percentage so this would be different if I was coming frequently, but just my thoughts.

Important thing is to have a good time whatever budget you have.
