Rene' was a chip dealer who sponsored several chip shows in the early days. He posted frequently on this bulletin board. His attitude offended several regular posters and they pushed back, eventually resulting in his leaving the hobby. I thought he was a nice guy and enjoyed chatting with him, but he lacked something in the way of diplomacy .

The chips were given to show attendees. I believe you got one free with admission and could purchase the others. The Chipco plaque was given to dealers who had tables at the Palace Station show.

Last I heard he was selling discounted computer software on eBay.
