My YARD SALE FIND

Poking around a weekend yard sale, I found these Grand Casino Commemorative shiny brass coins in excellent to almost mint condition nicely encased in plastic coin holders. These "Gulf Coast Series" coins were the Grand Casino's -- Biloxi and Gulfport -- second attempt at issuing these coins. The first issue was in 1996-1997. These are struck in1997. Both Grand Casinos were closed after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Only the Grand Casino in Biloxi reopened while the Gulfport Grand was sold to Island View Casinos that opened a casino across the street from the riverboat and located on the other side of U.S. Hwy. 90 -- making it a land-based casino. The set was enclosed in a nice black felt box with a satin interior showing the Grand Casino logo. The coin's reverse shows both Gulfport and Biloxi logos. These are a great addition to my collection. I have offered the individual scans to the MOGH and am hopeful they will find them worthy of addition for others to reference. Best part of the find, the seller made the price right for me to own them.
