Well, I guess it is all how you look at it. I work for a public television station. We give thank-you gifts for people that donate to our station. The people are not buying the items, they are getting a thank-you gift for donating to us. This is the way Public Television has gotten around tax laws. It is completely legal. But let's face it, people are buying the items that they can't get any other way.
So I guess from now on, if selling chips, I will be offering a thank-you gift of the chip for people that donate an amount of money to my paypal account.
All I am saying is that paypal knows it is being used by individuals (not businesses) in this way. If they truely had an issue with it, they would remove the ability to do it. This is not a practice that is unique to this hobby. I have collected other items that were bought and sold this way with many more paypal transactions in a week than happen here. Most of the transactions had notes that stated send the tags to this address.
I understand your opinion and position, but I just believe differently. I believe that in our capitolistic world, anytime you can find a way around fees you should take it. I understand that you do not feel this way and I respect your right to have a differing opinion.
