More and more, here in New Jersey... (and I would suspect in other states as well) I see an increased policy at many, many gas stations to charge more per gallon for purchases with credit cards vs. cash. The difference is sometimes up to .10 cents more per gallon if paying with a credit card. This was unheard of a few short years ago. Has the law changed? What is it like in your state?
How about merchants and service businesses who don't charge sales taxes if invoices are paid in cash, not check? Do some of you who are aghast at "Gift Paypal" payment requests sometimes offer to pay cash to avoid paying the tax that is due? Isn't that the pretty much the same "moral" thing as the gift paypal comparison? If not, why not? I'm just asking ... not casting aspersions.
