Have done a fair amount of traveling over the years [87 countries]
I would estimate that in 80% of those countries auto fuel was at least double the cost in the United States at that point in time.
Just about the same thing for postage.
Take a close look at a urban photo of any foreign large city and note the size of the vehicles. Don't see many vans, monster trucks and the like.
