~~~ been made thru the years was that we be more involved with major numismatic groups in order to make ourselves known around the world by those who are out in the field.
We presently belong to less major numismatic clubs as we did when I first joined our club 20 years ago.
The CCGTCC used to belong to F.U.N. (Florida United Numistmatists) who boasted year after year as having the biggest numismatic convention in the world (larger than the A.N.A. (American Numi...), and many of us who attended that convention in Orlando, Florida, can attest to that fact.
For several years the CCGTCC had a hospitality table at FUN where we would greet visitors attending that convention with woods, chips, magazines; membership applications, exhibits of what all we do... and the 'gift of gab'
Archie, Brenda, Jerry, Janice and myself (and others) helped man our well-stocked, expertly exhibited and informative table... and then when it bacame difficult to find bodies to assist, yours truly did the gig, solely; hardly ever complaining (except to be releived to make a pit stop).
Yes, you are right on the money with what you ask... and though your e-mail wasn't from me, I commend the person who has the concerns you mention and took the time to come forward to reach out.
So, after this topic of us either rejoining FUN (or joining with other major numismatic clubs both here and in Europa and the UK)... what say the BOD of the CCGTCC after this request has been made numerous times thru the years both here and at our club message board?
I'm willing to help as much as possible in the state of Florida; greeting visitors, exhibiting displays and answering questions by those attending and stopping by our booth should the club decide to join with FUN once again (or any other Florida-based Numistmatists' group or groups).
