I'll give a good example that always intrigued me. I once was very active in the collecting of playing card decks. One expert wrote something like this:
Suppose years ago a drug store in Minnesota ordered a hundred or two bridge-sized playing cards with the name, address, etc. of the drug store on the back. Assume that only one deck has survived. What is it worth? Answer: practically nothing! (Because there is little interest in bridge-sized decks from obscure Minnesota drug stores with just customized backs (not faces).)
