I don't want to disagree with the board members but I can see it from both sides. I think a simple rewording of the offer would make everyone happy. I don't see how a get together like this would hurt the club but I do understand how the board is concerned about someone making plans and using the club name without "supervision" from the club itself. I keep thinking of Gregs Tuesday night get together and how that is never associated with the club. On the other hand I agree with John that anything that brings club members together and helps promote the hobby can't be bad. Even if money is not donated to the club it sounds like a good event overall. Work it out!
