From what I remember the manager telling me, the player hands cash to the dealer, just like in a regular chip game. Then the dealer punches the amount into a computer in front of her, then the credits are loaded onto your display.

No one bought in while I was watching, so I don't know if you could bring chips to the table and buy in that way.
