It is still popular here in ID with some of the old UP guys. Unfortunately, they seem to be getting fewer in numbers.

I was always told that its popularity grew as a game to pass the time while waiting for your "Girl" in the houses of ill repute.

I played it at the Plaza years ago but have not seen a pan table in a long time.
