Casino MARIENLYST Denmark
The original Marienlyst was built in 1859 as a so-called inland health resort. The kings and princes of Europe often visited Marienlyst, but by 1902 the hotel had become too small, leading to the construction of the hotel building that still stands there today.
On that occasion, the Crown Prince of Denmark - later King Frederik VIII - granted Marienlyst permission to run a casino with cash bets and payouts, and to use the royal crown in its logo. Casino Marienlyst has over a century's experience in high stakes gambling, having been established in 1902. Casino Marienlyst is the oldest casino in Denmark, not to mention one of the most elegant and beautiful in Northern Europe.
The resort enjoys one of the most beautiful and unique views in the world, overlooking the øresund - the strait separating Denmark and Sweden - and the majestic Swedish coastline across the water.
The resort also affords spectacular views of the world-famous Kronborg Castle, and its own front garden and beach park stretch down from the hotel to the shore.
