I've been away for 10 days and upon my return to work today, a fellow employee was just returning from a military deployment to Afganistan. He was away for many months and brought me this "Challenge Coin" from an Intell Unit he dealt with from time to time.
While I said this was a "Challenge Coin" it is not the typical metal coin that most military units have made. In the interest of cost savings, this Unit decided to go with a cermaic chip (I suspect Sun Fly). It has printing around the rolling edge that I will try to scan at a later time. These are handed out, in the field, and the rolling edge printing contains contact information to report 'stuff' to the Unit.
The imagery is a take off from a magic 8-ball toy.
Thanks for looking!
Jim
