I have some leaning against a wall (out of the way) waiting for me to hang them. They have been like that for several months. I have others laying flat on top of each other also waiting to be hung. When I ship them home I place cardboard between them, top and bottom and wrap them with tape. You can put them in a box like that for long term storage.
