I have picked up a couple chips from Bob Ciaramella that have come out of his collection, and I value them very high in my collection. I also have a couple chips that came from non-chipping friends that they either found or thought I would like. Even though I have bought upgrades for those chips, I have no intention of getting rid of those chips.
Whether or not it is worth more money depends upon the buyer.
