I booked my flight to Vegas for the convention the other day and I have a question. I live about the same distance from Philadelphia and Newark airports. Lately PHL flights have been cheaper so thats where I searched first and found the best deal. Here's the catch, the flight I booked starts with a Amtrak Train ride from PHL to Newark and then a direct flight from Newark to Vegas. When I saw this I went to the airlines site to see how much just the direct flight was by itself, it was over $260 more. So my question is, can I just skip driving to PHL for the train ride and just go directly to Newark for the flight or would I need to do some kind of check-in in Philly first. Its an e-ticket so I'm thinking I could check-in online and just skip the train and go right to Newark. Anyone ever dealt with travel arrangements like this? I plan on calling the airline but just thought I would see if anyone on here has ever done this before.
