Bill consider BlackHawk/CC as well.Really the same town,all the casinos and shops are walking distance if I remember correctly.Visited in September of 09.
Also drove across the Rockies through the State Park from the East to the West and it is pretty incredible!(Snow flurries at the highest point of the drive).
Maybe you could even catch a Rockies ballgame as Denver is not that far away.
