My wife and I are looking at taking our 13 (girl) and 8 (boy) year olds out to Colorado Springs this summer as well. We saw some horseback riding, garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak Cog railway. I believe there is a mine trip also. Can't give you anything about shopping.
