Here is a link suggesting an interesting alternative, acting under an assumed name. In other words, the non-profit corporation name remains the same, but it acts under a new name toward the public, in this case a new club name. I got this idea at the New York State Corporations Department website. I believe the club is a New York non-profit corporation, but I could be mistaken.
