It does not appear that a simple name change would endanger the non-profit status of the club, but that is just based upon looking at these two web-sites and not upon proper legal research. I should note that I am not an expert in this area and am not intending to provide any legal advice in this post. I am just noting some things as a lay person, who has little to no knowledge in this area.

Perhaps there needs to be a little more research? Or has this been done and the process is not as simple as it is made to look at these sites?
