Are you familiar with the book "Wood Chips to Game Chips" by Bethel Holmes Van Tassel? The book is sub-titled "Casinos and People at North Lake Tahoe".

I don't know why they went with a cable-car theme...but on page 86 of the book (in the Tahoe Biltmore/Nevada Lodge chapter) is a picture of a "Cable Car used for transportation between clubs and casinos, Carlton Konarske driving". Carlton Konarske is/was Meta Fitzgerald's brother; at the time the book was written Carlton "has been the only manager of Nevada Lodge since opening day."
