Those two postcards of the track there are very nice. EBay is flooded with Agua Caliente postcards, but I don't recall ever seeing your two postcards before.

The Agua Caliente track had a great history, was very famous at one time -- very innovative, richest purses, etc. When the new Mexican President made gambling illegal, the whole Agua Caliente resort went to pieces. Just shows how politicians can mess things up quickly (America take warning).

Phar Lap ran into the history books as one of racing's top horses with his dramatic win, as he circled the entire field from dead last with ¾’s of a mile to go and held off American Derby winner, Reveille Boy. ... ... He won the Agua Caliente Handicap in track-record time in his final race. After a sudden and mysterious illness, Phar Lap died in 1932.
