Scanners that use LED technology suck at scanning certain chips. If you are trying to save on ink and you don't care about a scanner (for chips) buy a Kodak all in one. If you end up buying an Epson I know of a source for cheap ink that lasts twice as long per cartridge. Good luck on your quest.
