I guess I am just another eccentric chip collector, but I don't see "they/them" banging on our doors.
I do study welfare economics, and Fred is correct. My/our nation is getting poorer, and we can prove it.
This pie chart is comprised of data collected by the GAO, and is graphically displayed on the USDA's website (see attached URL). It is not corrected for the recession/depression. If we use that correction the FNS, or Food Nutrition segment is 15% higher and is discretionary. So 85% of the USDA budget is for Food Nutrition, WOW.
*Nutrition Assistance is analogous to welfare/wic/food stamps/ebt, and the like.
What does all that mean?
It means that in 2000, one of ten Americans were using FNS/WIC/SNAP welfare (2000 last collected census).
2010 census shows one of six using these programs. We even use an EBT system which has reduced "inherent fraud" to 3.5%.
40 million Americans on food stamps, and rising. Is this what they are banging down our doors for? Food?
