The Hard Rock Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas will soon have new owners, as clarified in Nevada Gaming Commission meeting on Thursday.

As chippers, a relevant question is whether Hard Rock will change racks with the new ownership and/or issue a redemption notice on all the previous chips. With 200+ chips issued over the years, and production numbers averaging well over 1000 per issue (some issues @ several thousand), the dollar value of the LE's that have "walked" is likely $1 million, or even several million dollars.
While this may seem like pocket change to owners with reorganized debt totaling $898 million, they still may want to wipe out the contingent liability of uncashed chips in the future. On the other hand, a redemption notice could bring in a substantial amount of LE's that would otherwise remain floating indefinitely.
Stay tuned in the weeks / months to come for a notice. Could go either way, IMO.
