I decided to complain to Canon about my new scanner not being able to scan Fluroescent orange and pink colors. I didn't really think they could help (so I wasn't disappointed). They said that if you have a scanner with a CIS scanning element (Contact Image Sensor) then it probably would not pick up the orange and pink colors. They suggested getting a scanner that has a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) scanning element. I have no idea if what they said is correct but I figured I would pass it along anyway.
I did check the technical specs of my machine and it does have a CIS scanning device in it. Canon has a Canoscan 5600F with a CCD scanner for $99. Has anyone ever checked the specs of a scanner that does a great job of scanning orange and pink to determine the type of scan element in it? I replaced my scanner because my old one was not compatible with my new computers Windows 7 and my printer died. I wish I had this CCD info before I bought the new all-in-one.
