Hey Dan. You don't actually have to have money in your paypal account to make payments. Paypal will draw directly from you nominated bank account or if you choose to add a credit card, you can select which account to transfer the money from. I regularly (strike that, habitually) buy chips from ebay and many (many, many) times find myself with no funds in my paypal account. No problems though, just make the payment & paypal will debit your bank account. It then shows on your bank statement as *paypal dancooley* or similar.
