...but against internet betting.
The majority of New Jersey voters support internet sports gambling but do not support online gambling, according to a Fairleigh Dickinson University poll that was released on Monday.
Fifty-three percent of those polled support lifting the sports betting ban in New Jersey, while 62 percent support sports betting in the state’s casinos. However, 67 percent are still against online gambling in casinos.
“People suspect that the Internet makes the barrier for participation in gambling too low, maybe a little like having a liquor store right at everyone’s door,” Peter Woolley, the poll director, said in a statement.
New Jersey is looking to pass bills legalizing sports gambling and internet gambling to combat a budget deficit. Governor Chris Christie has until March 3 to sign a bill permitting internet betting after it passed through legislature.
The bill will automatically take effect if Christie does not sign the bill by the deadline.

I read over the weekend they didn't think Christie would pass anything related to Gambling because it would be on his record as "supporting online gambling" if he decides to run for President in 2012 - makes sense in the screwed up world we live in.
