I went to see the Keely Smith show today at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center. It was great. At 82 her voice doesn't have the range or strength of the old days but she gave a fine performance with a terrific back up big band. The opening act was a British swing band that did excellent renditions of Louis Prima songs with great a great sax player and Keely's daughter singing some of the duets from the Vegas lounge show of the 50's. There's so little left of that era.
