A friend in the 60's had a neat framed display of 100 different colorfull beer bottle caps, mounted on cork and under glass hanging in his family room. I thought it was a neat display. Then BINGO, I said I can do that with chips. Since my honeymoon in 1960 in Vegas and ever since 2-4 times a year, I always brought home a few chips, I just like the looks of them. I put in a sock in my dresser. Then after I saw the Beer cap display, I glued them on cork and framed with glass, hung them on a wall, that got good sunlight. (100 great Vegas chips from 50's and 60's 20 years later got discolored and messed up with glue) I was a collector, but stupid. Then in 2000, I was in Laughlin and ashed a dealer at a empty BJ table to look for some Le's, he asked if I was in the chip club? I said no what club, he right now up in Vegas is a chip convention, and I wouldn't believe what is on display and for sale. I went up to convention, couldn't believe my eyes, joined the club, purchased chips, and books, and been having fun ever since. At the time I had about 200 chips in my socks fron 30-40 years before at home. Boy did I have fun going thru the books and seeing what they were worth, I had no idea, Thanks mister Beer man, and Mr. dealer for the ideas, and pointing me to this great Club.
