According to an article in City Life, January 27-Feb. 2 issue, The New Town Tavern has been closed (Condemned? Deemed unsafe for human occupation) for over 30 days. The poker table and slot machines have been removed. Efforts are underway to make the necessary upgrades, but reading the article leaves one with the impression that it's a long shot. The unrestricated gaming license requires gambling at least once every two years, so they still have 22-23 months before the owners lose that assuming that the present owners and license holders are not forclosed upon.
