Dad returned from WWII and release from the hospital.
Mother had started a dress shop in Milwaukee and it was doing good.
Early in December 1947 big snow storm and plows piled snow to the top of the display windows.
Dad went out the back, broke a path and ended up buying a 7 passanger DeSoto.
Came back and instructed Mom and me to pack one bag. Didn't argue with the Colonel.
He carried bags to the car and we locked up and left.
Ended up in Oceanside, CA one day and the next morning the news was 'Do you want to go to school here'.
Long story short the shop was sold by mail, we built a couple house and have no fond memories of Wisconsin.
Tomatoes are just about ready to pick.
