It can't get much worse than it already is. Other than the Chinese New Year chips, the list of casinos releasing LE's or Commemoratives is the four that Chuck showed. Maybe another casino here or there. Then in Atlantic City there are none from what I have heard. It makes their year if a new $1 or $5 house chip is released. It's only going to get worse, not better. Then once the casinos who have not already done so change over their house chips, those releases will also dry up.
Not like back when just about every casino here in Las Vegas released Millennium chips. And up through the $100's for a lot of them. I remember going out one night to pick some up & ran out of money. Only took $10,000 with me. Hit up the bank the next day & ran through another $10,000. That was for only ONE event & I was not done with just that $20,000. I still picked up more for about a month. A chip dealer these days could take that $20,000 & make it last over a year for ALL events & have plenty left over.
Normally I would say not to call Gaming. I only called them once in the last 16 years or so & that was when a casino refused to cash my chips. After the call they did indeed get cashed.
In this case I also say not to call them. The bottom line is that the chips are for the casino to use as they see fit. In this case the Palazzo & Venetian want to make their Asian VIP's feel special by only giving them the chips. Other casinos like the Wynn make 10,000 or more & let everyone have them.
Calling gaming can only hurt, not help the hobby.
That said...I very much understand Chuck's frustration as I have been there myself.
