I called and talked to the manager who had worked at the restaurant for thirty years, he said he didn't remember ever using poker chips for anything (since he had worked there). He guessed that a poker chip could have been used at the bar previous to him working there, maybe as a drink token?. I don't know the story behind the chip but if you want one I'm asking $9 delivered (not including matchbook cover). Both sides are the same. Please email me directly.
