some members, NOT just the club's BoD. The concern was getting youngsters involved in a casino or gaming-related activity. The BoD asked you to send in a "presentation" of how you think that this should work...did you? If you didn't, you still certainly can as both the current & incoming BoD would entertain any such ideas. What members need to understand is that the BoD is not in the same room but a couple of times per year, so presenting an idea without some additional thought on how & why such a program would work expedites the discussion. Without a clear idea of what YOU want & how YOU think that it should work takes way too long. The ideas that get acted upon best are ones that are specific in method & detail. A perfect example is the "Greg Susong Memorial Award" -- presented in a well-thought out & concise fashion from Andy Hughes & Mike Christensen. How it would work, costs, the nomination & voting process...pretty much everything. The BoD made a few tweaks it moved forward.
What benefits would a "Junior Program" member get? How would these "Junior Members" be included in the club's activities & publications? Costs & dues? Write it up & send it to the BoD...if you've already done it, send it again...it's not the same BoD as you presented it to the last time.
Just an FYI -- the club has tried twice -- unsuccessfully -- to implement a committee that would field ideas from the membership, discuss the idea, put together a plan & present it to the BoD with THEIR recommendations -- or, if they did not believe that the idea was viable, they would still provide the BoD with the idea, but with their "negative" recommendation. My hope is that the new BoD would attempt to do set this committee up again and that members that wish to be part of this committee would help the cause.
