That will work for any year, as long as you were born in the 1900's. If you take the last two digits, you are essentially starting at 1900 and going to your birthdate and then adding on the years since your birthdate. In other words, you are adding the number of years since 1900 to the present year, which is 111 years. Next year it will be 112, etc.
