This will be a short one. No big story and no news articles. Since I found the chips someone else either might find or already have some. Now you will know the “Rest Of The Story.”
Stay tuned history fans. I am working on 3 good stories, 2 Kentucky chips and a North Carolina/Tennessee chip.
The 2 Kentucky stories are from the infamous Henderson, KY, Evansville, IN “Strip.” It is the first time I’ve seen dynamite used to persuade operators to pay up. The North Carolina chip ties back to the infamous “Printers Alley.” The “Strip” and “Printers Alley” would have rivaled Newport, KY in the “Era Of The Illegals.”
Enough of that:

Chips delivered in 1978
From our “Friend Of The Hobby.”
Kenneth Alvin Buetow, Wisconsin native, died 1985 at New Berlin age 71. Couldn't find much about him. Two sons still living: Larry Kenneth Buetow, age 63, Waukesha, WI-- John C. Buetow, age 59, New Berlin, WI.
My Note: He bought the chips in 1978 when he was 64. Way past the “Era Of The Illegals.” It was a small order. I think that is little late in life to start a gambling empire. I am putting them in my “Home Game” file.
