There is at least one cardroom in California (S&K) currently using the generic Scandia Poker Chips as their current $1 chips.

Agree there is no evidence that these chips saw action in Al's Cardroom, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least that one, or some, of these small hole-in-the-wall establishments would buy a rubber stamp with generic chips and "make their own".

On the flip side, why would a person or establishment OTHER than Al's Cardroom go to the trouble of buying a customized rubber stamp and making homemade chips this way?
