In the past I've read a lot about fakes/counterfeits and such on the chipboard but really never had exposure to any of them (at least that I knew of). The chip I had did arouse suspicion but I wasn't sure why and now I know.
Now that I'm an expert, I do believe that the $5 chip you show is possibly a faux Cooper. Please send it west for a check up.
