I was referred here by another site. I just picked up these two $500 r-14 Sahara chips from a friend of mine today. He bought the two chips back in the early 90's. He'd take two $500 chips home every trip from Vegas and cash them on his next trip as "seed money". When he tried cashing these two on his following trip, he was told that they had been taken out of circulation. So long story short, he's been sitting on them for almost 20 years. My 4th edition Chip Guide says they're "unique" i.e. only one exists (obviously wrong). My dilemma is that the guide also says there were some forgeries. I will keep one chip and sell the other. What is the best way to assure the buyer of the chip I sell that the chip is not a forgery? Also, would it be wiser to sit on the chip for another 10 years to see if it goes further up in value?
Thanks for any advice
