Re: What are silver tokens worth?

Roy:

The token that you have there was issued by the Franklin Mint back in 1967. All of the $5 tokens from that year were done in Sterling silver and are marked as such. They were done in both PROOFLIKE and PROOF.

This token has 1.33 ounces of Sterling silver in it. If you multiply the 1.33 by the factor of .925 (for sterling) you come up with 1.23 ounces of .999 silver. With silver currently at $43.05/ounce, your tokens "melt value" is $52.95.

Hope this helps!

Jim
