I just received my best lobby card (or one of my few best). It shows Rita Hayworth with gambling chips, probably at a roulette table, in the famous movie "Gilda", starring Glenn Ford. I've wanted this one for a long time. Ruben Apaez was alert and kind enough to notify me of the auction on eBay. I'm always doing searches in the lobby card category for gambling-related lobby cards, but this auction did not contain any gambling-related key words.

Rita Hayworth in "Gilda." In a January 2008 auction on eBay, this lobby card, in poor condition, ended up at $257! It is known today mostly for Rita Hayworth's sensational, sexy, dance-song performance. I saw the movie recently. Chock full of gambling scenes and talk. Story seemed too soap opera-ish for me. The movie did very well, and helped make her famous.... ...... Back to the lobby card -- they are at a roulette table. Stacks of chips in front of Rita. The tall guy on the right is holding chips. Guy on the left of Rita is popular character actor, Joseph Calleia. I didn't win this auction. The one I just got cost me considerably less than $257.
