Back from the Boxing Hall Of Fame. Stayed at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. About a 20 minute trip from casino to the HOF, and both about 4.5 hours from my house.
Saw no Tyson, Stallone or Chavez. Stallone was staying in the same section of the hotel I was, and saw security waiting for him, but never saw the man myself.
Went to the boxing memorabilia show at the local high school. Mostly posters and pictures, and I have enough of those. Picked up a boxing related phone card I wanted, but that's about it.
Went to the "V.I.P." cocktail party. Marvin Hagler passed by on his way out:
I had Ken Norton sign a card and a casino chip. When I handed him the $5 Wild West "bust" chip to sign, he said "Can you find anything smaller, stupid?", smiled, shook my hand, and signed the chip. He moves very slow, but was a pleasure to meet.
Had pictures taken with Bert Sugar, Azuma Nelson, Aaron Pryor, Micky Ward (he was standing on the side by the bar - had a beer with him - really nice guy)...
...and Lou Duva. Here's me & Lou.
