They were used on a ship anchored outside the then 3 mile limit off shore from Santa Monica, CA. Smaller boats were used to transport customers back and forth. Boats were set up outside several CA cities at the time. There was a great piece on them in the Club magazine a few issues back - not sure which one. Most of these boats were controlled by the mob.
