with 12-pocket pages, and cardboard chip holders.
For the most part, 1" or 1 1/2" binders, divided as follows (alphabetized by casino):
Las Vegas-Strip
Las Vegas-downtown
Las Vegas-other
Reno
Tahoe
Laughlin
Misc Nevada (alphatetized by town)
The binders also house postcards, slot cards, tokens, matchbook covers...most anything small/flat enough to fit into plastic pages. When I set it up initially, I only put 5-6 chips in each page, to leave room for the collection to grow . I add more pages as needed, and when a binder is too full, half of the pages go into another album.
I like the smaller binders, because it's easier to pull them out and look at stuff...bigger binders tend to get pretty heavy!
Personally, I like to use white labels to close the holders...I like the look, and I don't like staples next to the chips. Also, I place the holder's fold on the left, and close the top and the bottom...leaving the right side of the holder open for accessibility, so I can hold or scan the chip without the holder.
Periodically I go through and number the chips that we've added. That also gives an opportunity to notice any problems (like bleeding chips), hopefully before the problem is too severe. (Though I have to admit, it's been quite awhile since I've gone through them...they're really way overdue for an inspection... )
