For those who are new to the board, or relatively new, the board slows down tremendously just before, throughout and for a short period after the convention. Sure, so many regular posters are in Vegas having fun. For those of us who will not be at the convention, though, it gets a little lonely. Not having been to a convention, I have seen it year after year. So, a few years ago, Deputy Von whipped up some excitement and organized chip shows every day (or at least most days) during that time. It was a whole lot of fun, and a great way to see some chips you otherwise don't usually see. Each day had a theme. Some were based on color, or mold, or some other theme (objects in the chips, illegals, hot stamps, denominations, whatever). So, if you are not going, start getting those scans ready of your favorite chips, so we can keep ourselves amused. If you don't have much, or don't believe your chips stand out, no problem. Show whatever you have, or whatever you like, as long as it fits the theme. A nice scan of even a common chip can look pretty nice. Don't worry about it. It's for fun, not to be judged.

If anyone has any ideas for some chip show themes, send me an e-mail. I will try to get it started on many of the convention days (I don't spend much time on the boards on weekends). If you don't see a show started, anyone can start one. I wouldn't mind. Show off what you've got! So, get those scans started and let's see a lot of participation this year! Wow, that was corny. Really, though, it can be a lot of fun.
