Re: still considered illegals

Gene,

I've been doing some recent digging on illegal joints located in Sarasota FL and White Sulphur Springs, WV, the home of the Greenbrier Hotel and new gambling casino.

Both places had many gambling joints as early as the 1920's and I'm getting local historians involved, hoping to interview some guys that were there at the end of the Illegal Period, probably late 1950's.

In Sarasota we have evidence of chips being used at the Sleepy Lagoon, the Cyprus Club and Pal's Casa Club, but have not found any chips yet. Mark's book has been invaluable in our research.

In White Sulphur Springs we know of The Colonial, The Pines, The Clover Club, Club Riviera and others, but again, no chips yet.

Any info on either would be appreciated
