BB Hub Chip- Port Author, Texas

I got this chip in a trading session at the 2001 convention.
I paid for and recieved the Mason record card as soon as I got home.
M.T. Chiles-4 colors
642 Proctor
Port Arthur. TX
3/2/43
Never gave it much thought, although was disappointed I did not have a club name.
Thanks to the miracle of the internet, databases, and a friend who not only has access but knows how to use it. Low and behold:

"In 1943, 640 Procter was the site of the Eureka Club. The Eureka opened in 1923 at 514 1/2 Procter. In its early days it hosted boxing matches; in 1939 it hosted the city billiard tournament. It was operated by Raymond Irving Ferguson (sold club 1945; died 1947, age 70).
Couldn't find any info on MT Chiles."

I am betting there was other chips sent to the address in care of other people that fronted the gambling. Just a guess as I have seen it many times with illegals. MT Chiles was an alais for whoever BB was.
