After reading this thread, I went to the Amtrak website thinking it might be cool to take a train to Las Vegas. None of the routes have a Vegas stop. I could drive to Lamar and catch a train to Kingman, or I could drive to Denver and make the run to Reno. Either one would be under $200 R/T, but neither of them would be convenient for a Vegas trip. I will definitely consider Denver to Reno via train should I feel a need to visit there again. That ride through the Rockies has to be spectacular!
