Re: Way out of My League!!!!,,,,
Long ago political memorabilia collecting was fun and affordable (before that autographs and sports memorabilia). Then a number of knowledgible and quality auction companies came along, as well as others got involved, and the hobby became a business and prices skyrocketed - given the stock market returns right now collectibles are tops for return - the other day I found an Abner Doubleday letter (civil war) in an antique store and paid $5 for a $1200+ letter! These folks are one of the premier companies in the auction business and get a top dollar for what they offer. I have delt with a number of people on this site and in this hobby and they seem to be fine people, knowledgible but do not have a "real feel" for the values to be had in this hobby. If auction catalogues continue then hold on to your hats and quality chips because the chip world is about to change - for bad or worse who knows?
